I've never used Figma. Am I missing out? We're a team of 3 @paragraph and don't yet have any robust design system; but Tailwind and our internal reusable components have let us go far and ship quickly.

Figma is really great for rapid prototyping, especially if you want to check how exactly something's gonna look (vs. Excalidraw). The tool is pretty intuitive, especially with this tutorial (+ other videos from the channel) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6t_dYhXyYjI

I personally use Figma, and it's fantastic for creating high-fidelity designs. It's like a playground where I can map out the entire user experience before even starting to build anything. Figma helps in visualizing how the final product will look and feel, which is super important for user-centered design.

Seems like you’re haha. Your website has multiple basic issues with spacings, no styling unique to your brand except primary color - all due to using components someone else came up with. Just re-drawing what you have in figma would fix your issues and can add a solid brand styling on top of it + think UX deeper

It’s good for feedback & prototyping, but it sounds like you don’t need it for maintaining a design system. We’ve used Figma + Storybook to connect design & dev, so the latter *might* be helpful. It might be worth looking into how Linear has grown nimbly like this, too.

Figma is great if you are collaborating with designers or need to explore complex ideas + flows visually before diving into code Every design system is architecturally unique. Sounds like you already have one in place, even if rudimentary If your current methods are letting you ship fast I'd say you're in a good spot

Figma let our designers mock things up and show pixel widths padding etc, but after all the effort, there’s no simple way to export viable css, less, scss We created a pipeline from Figma to Token Studio to Style Dictionary so all sizes, colors, fonts can be standardized. It’s overkill unless the app is big

It's a design tool. You don't need it if you're not a product designer, if you use tailwind it will get you off the ground till you can hire a designer. Focus on the UX and draw with boxes (FigJam/Miro/Freeform/etc) and match it with components.
