Come to France and go to small restaurants with good chefs. For $15/20, you can find very good restaurants for lunch.

Yeah. I try to go to a McDonald’s in every country I visit for fun and try the menu items that aren’t usually available in my country.

I actually love going to McDonalds overseas because they always have a couple of items you can only find in that country. Like chicken wings in Singapore, hot dogs in Japan, veggie burgers in Sweden, pizza pockets in German, lots of beer. You should go check it out.

You should go! There might be something from that McDonalds that's only offered there in Europe

at the risk of pissing people off: why would you do that to your body, no matter there you roam? Aside from the missed opportunity to eat local food based on heritage recipes honed over years.

I recall we had to find a McDonalds because we were a little late for lunch in Brittany and everything else was closed.

of course man…this trope that McDonalds is inherently bad is classist & plainly wrong comparatively to eating out elsewhere. I’ve had plenty of shit food abroad where a simple Big Mac would have made for a much better choice

I went to a Burger King in Switzerland once, spent $24, for a Whopper/drink/fries. Could not read the menu, and the teenager in line in front of me was carrying and AR-15.

100% I like checking their sometimes-unique-per-country items. Or to see if the coffee is any good there. Basically comfort food to take a break from the "local" food. I love McDonald's in Japan for example, it feels higher quality.
