of course it's programming, just like don't like to drink my chai tea w/o oat milk, even though I know it gives me glucose spikes in the morning.

I am lucky to have grown up in pre-EU Europe where we visited "foreign countries" casually and on a regular basis, and exploring their national dishes was alway top priority

This is the prototypical correct answer imo; there’s just something about the familiarity - even if it’s garbage - that’s hard to say no to
