Genuine question - isn’t blueprint in its current state just helping us die later? blueprint is a well-done optimization to slow down rate of aging to that of an 18 year old, but you’re still aging a wildly different change is needed to get to pause aging, and it’s likely not just diet “don’t die” is great marketing but isn’t actually true? aspirational wording like spacex’s “making humanity interplanetary” is actually possible with current tech, just scaled 1000x. but feels like blueprint has not shown anything to pause aging so feels disingenuous to say it this way? this is me hoping for constructive dialogue as a fan of your work btw

“Last Generation to Die” seems more hardcore for some reason

I’m looking forward to your work with a woman. I’m sure a lot of common sense things apply across sexes but you can’t optimize women’s behaviour across a day it needs to be synced to her cycle and hormonal fluctuations that cause much more variance than in males. I think it will be interesting to see that.

I think about this often but forget about not dying how will society shape itself when humans know they will be healthy till the age of 200? here are some thoughts: 1) multiple families and at a younger age (age 15, 75, 120, 150) 2) slower but more impactful productivity (take time to develop deep skills over generations instead of years) 3) coming to peace with and planning for death 4) long term ebs and flows between extreme boredom and extreme adventure/extreme depression and extreme joy kids born today will be known as the First Generation and we’ll be known as, the Last Generation

Important! But I would argue there is a distinction between not dying and living to the full—the former does not necessarily imply the latter. In fact (while I agree with you longevity is a worthy pursuit) I wonder to what extent increasing life/health spans may be squandered on pursuits that diminish “quality” or the extent to which longer-living humans will choose to experience the fullness of life? I’m sure you’ve thought and written about this at length, and I’m looking forward to hearing what you think! Thanks Bryan 🙏

Dictators and rich bad people will live forever. This is not good. I remember the book "Portrait of Dorian Gray", in which the main character was an ordinary young man, but immortality corrupted his soul.
