Don’t know if accurate, but certainly intriguing. Americans of FC, what do you think of this take on the electoral shift?

People are overthinking it. Any republican likely would have won because of inflation. The more relevant question is why the GOP let a fascist grifter take over their party.

yeah, they are the international leaders of the reaction against the women revolution, trans rights, sexual freedom and all of this.. they feel they are the revolutionaries fighting against the mainstream.. but they are just the reaction of the patriarchy.. funded by wild campaigns.. against the revolution of these historically oppressed collectives.. on top of the economy contraction and inflation.. that's perfect place for a fascist reactionary campaign.. but.. these "outsiders" are the "insiders" now.. they won.. trump is not going to solve economic problems.. and these poor working class guys will continue being poor working class.. while sexual crimes and oppression will be rampant.. and let's see how many latinos that voted trump got deported..

Oh god. As a 24 year old man, I completely get this. Haven’t read something which acknowledges what I see in the world so closely for a long time. I’ve voted Left my entire life and care about the consequences for women of such a male-coded agenda, but personally, I believe that I can achieve great things and want a society which supports this. Yes it’s about inflation, but that doesn’t explain everything. Can you not feel it?

Not wrong. I believe the Quittellette crowd including Claire has been banging on this drum for a while? Falls to the following very common logic https://claireberlinski.substack.com/p/no-one-can-explain-trumps-victory?utm_source=substack&publication_id=16235&post_id=151319725&utm_medium=email&utm_content=share&utm_campaign=email-share&triggerShare=true&isFreemail=true&r=1fnfr&triedRedirect=true

It's getting better to the ground truth reality, and showing people in the Democratic party are starting to look outside of their own Balkanized bubbles. There were very clear signs that the movement of American Dynamism, Crypto-Technologies, AI, were all being supported by Republicans and Donald Trump directly. Meanwhile the Democratic party was continuing a crusade against technology, lying to people's faces and gaslighting them when they brought it up, and never really generated a clear plan forward. Harris simply didn't want to make up for the negatives in technology, data, products, and economy that Biden started. Ro Khana and others screamed at them to stop. They didn't listen. It's frankly shocking to me that they seem to *still* don't get that generating hyperbolic takes and demonizing people for simply being adjacent to other movements is a winning strategy, and they're starting to accept that smart people align with the overall theme of the Republican party. It's a good sign.

I think people are making way to many wild pronouncements, but if I had to pick one reason: inflation. Seems Trump picked up in most categories except college-educated women (abortion) and people over 65 (fear of losing benefits). Meanwhile, very few would point to specific policies they favored. That said, with teenage sons who get fed stuff on socials, there's been a concerted effort to use woke backlash as a motivator among young men. Across every category there is every more finely-tuned outrage machine messaging.

Hmm I disagree. I feel like this demographic of voters were priced in to vote for Trump. What wasn’t expected, was Trump to outperform his 2020 results among Female, Black, and Latino voters! To @gigamesh’s point - Dems got slaughtered in every demographic likely due to inflation.
