I travel a lot for work and have to wonder. How do other travel warriors here handle jet lag? It absolutely wrecks any routine I try to maintain, both circadian and dietary. I also can’t even take all my supplements with me (too cumbersome, and some are temp-controlled). Also curious about @bryanjohnson’s take on this (I’m sure he’s been asked this a million times, but seeing him fresh and awake at the recent Network State conference in Singapore made me wonder)

I wonder if @bryanjohnson flies private. It allows you to schedule flights at prime time to optimize sleep and avoid jet lag. The timings of international flights are also tricky to deal with with most long hauls being in the odd midnight and dead of the night time windows.

Timeshifter is an app that helps you do some things to soften the transition, like gradually shifting your wake/sleep times, and when to avoid/pursue sunlight, caffeine, and melatonin. Following isn’t always an option, but it’s worked well several times for me.

The only thing I've found that helps is to try to stay up until at least late afternoon local time the day I arrive. Then I'm exhausted and wake up closer to local morning. Surprisingly what didn't help at all was staying on European time during a four day break back in the US between trips. I think it somehow made it worse, which doesn't even make sense.

I used to travel 2 weeks of every month, all over the world. Nothing really to be done. You're going to be in a wreck most of the time.

Kept the 'kid' mindset of "Jet lag is all in the head" I'm lucky that I can easily sleep on planes - rarely eat on them (try to eat big delicious meal before or after). I give it my all for work and travel purposes etc and once I get back i crash for two days 😆 .

I’m not a travel warrior (just a couple of intercontinental flights per year) and I can’t handle at all. All the time is a pain in the ass 😂
