Marginally useful for sales, but it's honestly just an excuse to party

It's useful to go if you're un-initiated to the culture but if you're already steeped in it, it's a circle jerk

IMO Devcon is an exception to this rule. I learned a lot and it ~permanently influenced my view of crypto/ethereum

That's true - I went to Strata Hadoop once at the peak of big data

It was basically a raison d'etre for CIOs... I think they ended up losing their jobs a few years later or pivoted to AI thought leaders

Yeah I think I’m done with conferences for the most part unless I have to be Chief excitement officer.

They’re good to get FaceTime with investors in case you’re fundraising :)

This is why I liked FarCon – so little of the conference was about partying, the largest span of time was builders making cool things.

We need more conferences where builders build.

Good to make connections at least, say hello to that internet friend, and also to get awesome products in early stage, such as guaranteeing Gnosis pay limited edition card etc :)

Sometimes partying helps you be more useful in other areas.
