I think there are some differences, but still similarities between builders and contributors. I consider some community members to be contributors, which is not unrelated to the building process overall.

in my eyes, anyone that takes part in any activity that doesn't involve value extraction is a builder round here

you can build anything but the economy does favour categories of output more favourable for fundraising (devs) and distribution (creators) or relationships (fund). there is an entire host of builders (ie. Pieter Levels or bootstrappers who prefer to do it all albeit at the expense of growth so slower) so know the game you're playing. I personally think roles i.e community managers aren't setup to capture value given platforms control the content/data in closed systems. excited to see how /towns is going to change that. if you want maximum impact, pick the first two or do it all. the creation-> bits is very high leverage in the AI economy and outsourcing or delegating can never complete. or find a complementary partner. put succinctly, being in the arena, you're a builder.

in my experience, in DAOs and crypto, smart contract devs are at the top, other web3 devs next, then UI/UX, then everything else. i've been a broken record about how if they keep focusing on developers, we'll have a bunch of software that no one knows exists, which in many cases is already happening.
