just learnt about ptg (post-traumatic growth) essentially at the point of the traumatic event, it can go one of two ways (ptsd/ptg) depending on the vulnerability of the person (autistics are considered more vulnerable) ptg isn't so much recovery but transformation (e.g. a cancer patient overcomes cancer and finds a new appreciation for life) ptg is facilitated by factors such as a sense of entitlement, hope, and gratitude ptg requires active engagement and deliberate effort as opposed to passive endurance ptg is less about the trauma and more about how you rebuild around it and decide your story (the reframe is the key to growth) ptg tends to show up in five forms: - stronger identity - deeper relationships - sharper priorities - wider possibilities - spiritual clarity ptg isn't instant and often happens alongside pain how you respond to suffering is the most important part of the process https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC9807114/
