Suggestions on Christmas presents for your kids that aren't toys (am I already too late ๐Ÿ˜…)? Their lists are all dolls, action figures, legos, board games. But they have so many of these already! Also tempted to go no presents but that'll prolly "traumatize" them ๐Ÿ˜†

Iโ€™ve done years with my daughter where I told her ahead of time weโ€™re doing experiences as presents and not things. So she can pick an experience option as her present

art stuff is often good (itโ€™s a big genre from art kits to cool stuff from the japanese stationary store), also gear for stuff they like (iโ€™ve gotten mine climbing shoes, skateboard, bikes at various xmasโ€™s/bdays).

We sometimes go down the craft routeโ€ฆ one idea is a mini โ€œcarnival game maker set for eachโ€, time to make their own inventions and then a time for everyone to play each game. Just collect random stuff. My daughter made a decent trampoline skiball game with marbles, yogurt containers, balloons, and cardboard.

My wife and I donโ€™t have kids but often try to avoid the usual โ€œcruftโ€ with gifts to our young nieces and nephews. Recently we gave a Meow Wolf gift card to an artsy 8 yo niece which she was very excited about using ๐Ÿ˜Š

Books. Pitch them as big kids' books, and/or ones they will read with parents, to cement the category for the future

For me, giving great xmas presents to kids, starts by controlling what they get throughout the year. "This is very expensive. Maybe you should consider this as your xmas present"? Building up, creating anticipation and desire, that's what builds up to a great gift (when kids have almost everything).
