It's crazy how much your upbringing affects your perception of the world, even for small things like doing dishes, laundry, tying shoes, etc.

You tend not to question many things that might've been wrong or suboptimal (most parents are just trying their best) until much later in life, often thanks to having a partner

Yeah college is another big one that causes you to question (and learn) things, basically any situation where you're living with new people

In college this became so apparent who knew their life skills and who didn’t 😂

A good partner will hold a non judgmental mirror up to you and tell you what is best about your upbringing, what you need to be updated on and what you need to drop immediately lol
