It's crazy how much your upbringing affects your perception of the world, even for small things like doing dishes, laundry, tying shoes, etc. You tend not to question many things that might've been wrong or suboptimal (most parents are just trying their best) until much later in life, often thanks to having a partner

+1 to what @samantha shared in this thread and also migrating to a different culture. Europoor meme is so real. Generational differences between Millennials and Gen Z are too.
