The best habit I’ve picked up over the last year is always hitting 10k+ steps a day. Rain or shine, sick or healthy, I get it done. Now on a 7 month streak. I try to walk whenever possible including taking calls and responding to emails/messages. (Proof of work below)

Fun fact: Years ago, I built a streaks-focused walking app for fun. It was incredibly useful because streaks reinforce habits (the longer you build one, the less likely you are to break it). I'm still surprised this functionality isn't native in the iOS fitness app. https://www.producthunt.com/products/amblewalking

Last year, I made it a goal to hit 10k steps every day, and I barely missed any days—my yearly average ended up being around 9,899. But honestly, when I looked at the biomarkers in my health tests, I didn’t see any noticeable difference. Because of that, I’ve completely let go of the 10k goal this year. I still end up doing 7-8k steps naturally, but I’m not stressing about hitting that number anymore. I’d love to hear if you’ve seen any measurable differences in your health or biomarkers from hitting 10k steps consistently. Have you noticed anything concrete?

Congrats! I’m in the same boat, I even bought an underdesk treadmill to achieve at least 10k everyday! One of my goals of 2025
