GN and question for the group. When you read these words, what comes to mind? 1. "Radical honesty" 2. "Radical transparency"

I feel that they are similar but honesty is all encompassing. You can be radically transparent about one thing and not another. But you can’t be radically honest in only some aspects.

“Radical [anything]” screams b.s. The only reason you need to add “radical” to something is because you acknowledge that the rest of the time whatever it is, is a farce. People using it are either (a) revealing that they just regurgitate information, or (b) are otherwise not transparent or honest

Radical honesty: Sometimes blunt, apathetic state can create conflicts in relationship or any other sphere or life. Radical transparency: An ideal governance, with some conflicts between morality and ethic.

What comes to mind is the radical candor framework for leadership (from the eponymous book), and finding an elusive balance between (i) ruinous empathy, (ii) compassionate candor, (iii) obnoxious agression, and (iv) manipulative insincerity.

Out of the norm. Potentially in a negative way, but not necessarily. Maybe delivering honesty and transparency in a harsh but “you need to hear this” manner. Elon Musk comes to mind

Radical honest to me means talking about uncomfortable truths. Radical transparency I think means sharing information that by convention would be kept secret.

We need the radical now to get to both words because people are so concerned with political correctness.
