1 month later, still my hypothesis. social-first, USDC-first mini apps like @ampsfun (pay to recast) and /flock-in (pay for cameo-like videos) appeal most to the avg consumer, critical for mainstream adoption my current wish list: tip on a cast, pay-to-view article cc @paragraph, pay-to-view compliment (cc gas)

Agree but would call this "microtransactions" instead of USDC-first. "microtransactions" will be a resurging crypto VC category once there are 1 or 2 breakout products in this space.

The average consumer wants to pay for reach? Sounds more like a brand-first approach which is fine, most people here seem passionate about their brand or a company they work for but it’s not consumer/mainstream adoption enabler of the 1st degree I would think

Definitely interested in pay-to-view & other microtransactions features, but generally worry they'll have a tough time turning into meaningful, reliable income for writers. Paywalling & limiting access is also a bit of a double-edged sword. It can help drive monetization, but also limits readership & audience growth, which is especially important for writers just getting going. Still, definitely think gating makes sense in spots, especially beyond access to the writing, aimed more at participation: needing to pay to comment, join a group chat, or participate in a live discussion or event about the writing, etc. Thanks for tagging us w/ the idea!

had an idea for: OnlyFiDs generate whitelists/blacklists for specific casts. the frame would suggest/make lists based on queries (eg post for people in NY or holding X token) and also generate shareable starter packs
