A surprising number of people ask me “do you still write?” Substack has iceberg optics. I think I get almost as many eyeballs on my substack as on my retired Wordpress blog but getting off Twitter* gives it iceberg optics… 90% cozy and invisible. As many people see it (though a different demographic mix) but they don’t see each other seeing it. Sinks below common knowledge threshold. Which is now sky high.

I've read McCullough's book, and I prefer the book written by the Wright Brothers themselves, available on Project Gutenberg. Until I read it, I had no idea that a key insight they had was that the published engineering tables for how air behaves were wrong, and they had to make their own. https://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/25420

2/2 Why you should work with me: I used to be an executive at a developer tooling startup, so I am fairly technical. I have been an early employee at multiple venture funded cos (YC, SV Angel et al.) and know the grind it takes to run a startup. I work harder than anyone I know - in Dec, I worked 16+ hours a day, everyday, for the entire month. Minus vacation I haven’t taken a weekend off since August 2024. All that to say, I want to sell some candles 🤪 and as a developer for this, you don’t have to worry about whether you’ll be paid. You will be paid and I will make sure that we profit within the first three months.

Lake Tekapo, New Zealand While purple, pink, and blue-hued lupin flowers may not be native to New Zealand (they hail from North America), they really do seem to bloom most vibrantly on the Oceanian nation’s South Island. At Lake Tekapo, in particular, the flowers juxtapose against the backdrop of the crystal clear water to create one of the country’s most stunning vistas.
