The benefit of being able to send mobile notifications cannot be understated. Mobile sites are great but if your users are on mobile and you don’t have a way to notify them you’re cutting yourself off at the knees. but tbh mobile sites for crypto inherit the UX of the wallet, which as a dapp dev you cannot control. Which means, when ppl use Metamask Mobile on Android, your users are guanteed to have an abysmal experience. So I wouldn‘t even ship a website, and instead build a thing like the FC client.

There’s an ask of post-2010s. To discovery every frame of the UX. Mobile asks that question and defines novel UI.

Do you think if iOS would allow push notifications for PWA, we'd see a lot more mobile-first innovation? I suspect many web3 apps go desktop less because of wallets and more because of app store reviews.

Very true. I built myself a mobile app to notify me of some web3 stuff — mainly to avoid being liquidated! — meant to expand on it and release publicly, maybe soon…. Even if mobile apps aren’t feasible for some dapps, there are other ways to send mobile notifications 🤔

Omg this. We’re doing a PWA so we can do browser notifications, but they’ve been ruined by all the scammy content sites so nobody enables them
