The benefit of being able to send mobile notifications cannot be understated. 

Mobile sites are great but if your users are on mobile and you don’t have a way to notify them you’re cutting yourself off at the knees. 

Many crypto projects are desktop first (bc wallets) and don’t internalize the lessons of the 20

Omg this. We’re doing a PWA so we can do browser notifications, but they’ve been ruined by all the scammy content sites so nobody enables them
