ok dyson vacuum or roomba? I like the vacuum cuz I know it works really well, but obviously it’s manual The roomba I like how it has a mopping function but I don’t have space to dock it somewhere

Do you have carpet? Hardwood floor? Dyson series does not have good suction on hardwood floor except for v10. For hardwood / carpet dual use, I recommend Bissell.

one benefit of the roomba is a cat can ride around on it

I hated the Roomba because I work at home. It runs for quite a while and the sound annoyed me. If I left the house every day, I’d love it

We have a self-emptying roomba and rarely use it because it’s loud, takes forever (like 4hrs), doesn’t do a good job, and gets stuck a lot

I have both. I bought the roomba thinking it would replace my dyson, but the roomba doesn’t really understand wires (sure, my cable management could be better but let’s not go into that…). So two rooms of my house is off limits to the roomba, which means Sir Dyson still has a place in the world.

I’m OCD, I love vacuuming… like I do it 1-2x a day happily! And the Dyson is the greatest vacuum I’m ever used, it gives me so much joy. 10/10. If you don’t enjoy vacuuming, go roomba. If you do, go Dyson. Your two options are the right only two options.

Roomba all the way, especially in a condo. I run mine every couple days while I get other housework done. It might not clean every inch every time but I clean way more often so it generally covers my entire place over two sessions.

Roomba is great for steady state cleaning, but I would personally get at least an additional hand vacuum to round out the tidying.

Tried several roombas and found they were always stuck on something when I got home. And the battery life was crap. Ended up using my Dyson instead of rescuing the roomba all the time…
