Anyone else noticing the U.S. increasingly geo-fenced completely out of crypto? The land of the free won't allow its citizens to access airdrops because what - free money is scary? Imagine if the U.S. geo-blocked itself from the internet in the 90s. Truly the dumbest timeline.

The SEC can't find the time to protect it's own twitter account but it somehow finds the time to protect all americans from scary token airdrops. Crypto will be fine - I worry about America.

it's not that the US disallows airdrops. that would be easier to deal with its that there's so much FUD and risk in airdropping to us that projects (reasonably) decide its not worth the trouble. but there's no rule against it, so its harder to push back on operation chokepoint

Yep. And itโ€™s not just crypto. They are creating nonsensical regulations all over the place. All these frictions will eventually lead more money/people/innovations on-chain in my opinion.

They want to retain control of the money as much as possible. For as long as possible. And at the expense of an entire nation. ๐Ÿคฏ Bankers and greed, combined with the gerontocracy of leadership. 60/40 or so would be my guess

yet all the vc money is still predominantly american so i guess you fly back to the valley to raise and take a flight back somewhere with more crypto freedom and a better time zone for global business because letโ€™s be real, managing global relationships from the pst time zone is not fun

From the outside looking in, the U.S. regulatory stance feels like a blend of caution aimed at maintaining financial stability, with little consideration for what fosters financial growth. If the U.S looses the lead in tech, what is left ?

It's just the immediate required action from any legal advisor in the ecosystem. Not justifying it, but the regulatory environment in the US, specifically the SEC, created an extreme chilling effect for projects to interact with anything US. it's sad and unfortunate
