hiring was the first big stressful thing on the company side for me, bryce has done a good job making the legal, admin stuff less daunting but looking around, hiring has gone well - it has been much more natural a process than I expected, so I've started thinking a lot about management instead please drop resource recs on "becoming a better leader, manager" if you have them, trying to level up in 2025 without coming off like this

off the dome: - you can’t truly lead well unless you care about both the people and the mission, in that order - it’s 1000x easier to lose than gain trust - listen to your people. actually. meaning: create consistent and comfortable venues to voice concerns, however minor - ask them how they prefer to be managed, exchange “peeves”

Not sure of these will help, but a few things that have helped me: To help with people development, I’ve leveraged the Koran ferry competency architecture. The idea is narrowing in on specific development areas on people and understanding how to build those skills. For example, helping someone with ambiguity. This is the book of there competencies but there is a lot of methodology on their website. https://store.kornferry.com/en/product/5a377843-f45e-4b8c-9057-525aee9bacec They also have an interview guild that helped you learn what questions and dive into specific skills you need from someone. More of an HR focus, but this booked helped me think about people before all else. https://www.booktopia.com.au/work-rules--laszlo-bock/book/9781444792386.html?srsltid=AfmBOoolvyN4T-LRJaV5ZVvTxTlOEklygFlUCTlSGlBd3Wf2FD7qp3yc

Be empathetic. Be honest since day zero. No lies, no half-truths. Be the person that you would want to have for a boss or leader. That's it.
