I love to see the continued adoption of L2s, especially open-source ecosystems like the OP stack However, until we solve the UX of bridging we’re not going to see the significant adoption needed to drive the next wave I refuse to hold 42 different types of ETH and the cognitive overhead that comes with it

had the same thought. isn’t this solved by native L2 tokens tho? instead of fiat to eth to L2 token, you can go fiat directly to L2 token if no L2 token i definitely agree: bridge requirement *increases* barrier to entry

I think the UX is solvable and I’m excited for the potential role that @jessepollak & the Coinbase team can take in building that crucial infrastructure for the ecosystem.

I'm not convinced that the future is tons of L2s with bridges. Why shouldn't L2 have a winner dynamic the way L1 has? Once you have one that's fast, secure, and permissionless, & some critical mass of adoption, why use another? You'll still have competition among sequencers, bundlers, searchers, etc just like L1

I 100% agree. This will be solved at the level closest to the consumer which is at the wallet level that abstract away all of the chains, bridges, gas, native tokens etc. Also UXs like MetaMask will also go the way of the dinosaurs but that’s a whole other rant 😓

For art NFT there might develop a winner takes all scenario. Tez and Eth are not really competitors because it’s really different art markets in their own right with overlaps. Think it’s possible there might develop an art to go to L2. Anyway it’s clear we are entering a new era.

yes so agree with it, bridging is a pain and UX sucks.

Yep, ease of use is going to be needed for mass adoption. Easy bridging or bridging done in the background is vital.
