Keeping the same pfp for a long time is underrated. Most people don’t recognize your username. They recognize your pfp. It can be tempting to change it for new trends & projects you’re excited about. Keeping the same pfp can feel boring. But the similarity compounds.

This is extremely useful for people with low follower count for the reason you said But high follower count privilege means they get to change their pfp as many times as they want. I've noticed that no one loses track of them

While I agree, I haven’t followed the trend here on Farcaster… reason being is that I really enjoyed being able to demonstrate support for native Farcaster projects and pfp changes are a good way to raise awareness. Felt like FC was small enough that I could switch it up from time to time. Folks don’t recognize me perhaps, yet I don’t think my engagement here it weighted too heavily toward my pfp, as my engagement isn’t very high to begin with. I’ve never changed my twitter profile though.

I’ve had the same pfp for almost 4 years. I get super confused when people change theirs. Like you wrote, I recognise people by their pfp more so than their handle. I’ve aged since then so I should probably update soon though 😁
