AI features are coming to @common ! DM if you want to try them out, very rough but want to make them good and evolve into place to manage and work along side many agents. Ideally autonomous. There are lots to be desired for a chat only view. 1. because you are often iterating over docs / long responses, it’s extremely difficult to even find what you’re looking for 2. Chat is not good for another user to get “it” and dive in (tldr bad for multiplayer) 3. Topics and levels of nesting aren’t very good in single chat first view. Slack is good for this. 4. I should be able to mention topics / files / members and effectively pull in their context (similar to cursor flow) 5. Onchain data sources and more not very well tapped into

I finished a new essay, "Farcaster is a Car" which I'm submitting to the @kiwi Farcaster 2026 writing contest. It tackles the question of marketing and growth by reimagining what social media could be. The ideas were inspired by Nassim Taleb's insight that new forms of technology have a tendency to fix problems introduced by previous technology. It got me thinking: what problems in Web2 social media can Farcaster fix? The answer I came up with was context collapse. In this essay, I draw on an analogy between Farcaster and the early automobile, from historical, practical, and cultural angles. Feeling very disillusioned with Warpcast since discovering that some of my direct casts were deleted without my permission. It feels like it really flies in the face of the promise of web3—ownership. I get that the protocol has storage related deletions, but *not* paying for it is a choice and it's known up front.
