~50% of people don’t have an inner monologue. do you? when does it happen for you, or is it 24/7?

I really don’t get how people don’t have an inner monologue— do they just hear nothing in their heads? This always fascinates me.

I was about to say exactly this. Just the very idea no inner monologue exists is 🤯 to someone who has one and can’t imagine not having it.

Yes, we hear nothing in our head lol. Unless we're deliberately thinking about something.

Yes I used to have a lot of inner monologue and then after I started meditation I have 0. I feel like fully immersed in the present.

- Some people might actually be empty inside (which honestly makes more sense than the opposite) - Others might suppress their inner dialogues, fearing it makes them seem crazy, and slowly fall into a silent vow until they die (very sad)

There is a subsect of people who actually aren’t able to have inner thoughts. I always understood those to have some sort of psychological or developmental neurodivergence. Ask me what it’s called, and I’ll have nothing for you, because I def forgot 😞

Essentially yes, that's what is said about them at least. They apparently think abstractly and use visual imagery to process things rather than with their inner voice like those of us who have it use.
