You did great on Epicenter this week!! I also feel highly uncomfortable listening/watching myself. The few conference talks I've done I have forced myself to rewatch. I think it helps if you get it over with as close to it being published as possible.

my accent when talking english is way more local ( trad-amsterdammy stonecoal english ) than the intellectual voice i could have cultivated earlier in life. And my sentences are more those of Kamalla Harris than Tusli Gabbard. i.e occassional wordsalad instead of grammatical perfection. We're all unique and wonderful

Same. I like the tip above on muting videos and adding subtitles, but podcasts will probably never happen for me :(

I’ve gotten past it. If you’re doing something on a regular basis, it’s good to review so you can improve. Listening/watching back helps me find issues w/audio etc and I’ve changed things due to that review. fwiw I think you’re great on camera!

You can avoid long feedback loop of recording and watching yourself talking. This technique gives you instant feeling on how you sound to others. Maybe it could help you accept your own voice. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eWLWOSgYlG8&t=187
