I’m very excited to share that my wife is pregnant! We’re in the process of planning a registry and and wanted to poll everyone here for their recs on must haves and don’t gets. Especially interested in thoughts on strollers, car seats, and quality of life improvements for us & the baby.

Congrats! Parenthood is an incredible thing. Two quality of life recos: - Kyte Baby pjs w/ magnetic snaps (cozy for the kid + the snaps make late night diaper changes way smoother for everyone involved) - White noise machines. One portable. One for your room. One for the kid’s room. Everyone will sleep better for it

Congrats! If doing formula, the baby brezza formula pro is life changing. Dreamland/Kyte sleep sacks are amazing. But the Magic Merlin sleepsuit was life changing at 6 mos. A&D ointment to prevent diaper rashes. Frida everything works (esp electric nose frida). Snoo will be a hit or miss depending on the baby!

The only unqualified recommendation I have after 9 years and 4 babies is the baby jogger city select stroller. I've replaced front wheels once but it gets a lot of use, can handle 2 kids if you have another or a friend, and is durable.

Baby carrier was everything for me and my husband. We loved the baby k’tan for newborn. They’re sized so we each needed our own but they’re not too expensive. For post newborn I found the lillebaby to be the best. Personally hated the ergo but everyone has their own preferences. Definitely a white noise machine.

Congratulations. Get the Snoo. We rented it. Son hated it. Returned in 3 weeks. Daughter loved it and used for like 2 months. Other big one is finding a way for you to at least do one of the night feeds if you can so that mom can sleep. Bottles you will go through a lot until you find what the baby likes.

Hatch sounds machines are nice, it helped my wife sleep more than the baby at times. Also if she pumps, get flange inserts so it fits perfect, turned a painful process into a relieving experience. The second will be learned as you go, but congratulations and prayers for a happy healthy baby!

Sir - Get one of these if you don’t have one already. The bouncing soothes a fussy/colic baby during those first couple of weeks. It’s been a lifesaver for both my kids. Once their gut develops at around 3-4months you can ween out from using this.

Congratulations! Snoooo bassinet, a pricey one that's worth it (I've heard, didn't come out until my kids were older) Boppy pillow was always an essential. Great place to lay baby down on lap when you need hands-free. When older baby sits up on their own, usually 6 mos, the pillow turns into a seat prop. Lots of uses

Nanit is great. For stroller we use uppababy but hear doona stroller is great for the city. Skip-hop play set is essential for when they get a few months old. Love the pfp btw! That’s was mine for a while here, may have to change it back!
