Had a rare day time visit from the neighborhood possum this weekend. If you look closely you can see its baby hanging from its stomach. We watched as the baby crawled itself into the pouch (marsupials)while it walked the fence. Pretty wild.

Today I kicked off my AI Business Fellowship with Perplexity. This morning's session featured an interview of Perplexity's Chief Business Officer, Dmitry Shevelenko (prev. Uber, LinkedIn, Facebook), led by their Founder/CEO, Aravind Srinivas. The discussion covered what it takes to succeed in an AI world both as a business and as professional. Notes: • Speed is the most important professional moat in AI and in AI-driven business (speed to adapt/adopt, speed to execute) • Key for success = bias toward action and a commitment to using the leverage of AI and finding your unique the competitive edge in • How? Craft teams with people who bias toward action/building vs. planning/management — amplified with the productivity leverage AI provides. Grateful for the opportunity to learn from the incredible roster of leaders speaking throughout the program, and the chance to connect with so many like-minded professionals.

💯 Perplexity has been crushing it with brand design. They've set a high bar for on-brand AI generated imagery. The trick though is it isn't 100% MidJourney created and not necessarily 100% AI generated. They seem to be using different combos of tools and recipes to create the consistent style. I've seen several studies like this recently — humans prefer AI outputs, but only when they don't know it was made by AI. Knowing something is AI-produced erodes its value. But what if you never knew? IMO this indicates that the quality is there to replace humans in these areas. What is still catching up is the human tolerance for "AI-created" anything. Like the horse riders who resisted automobiles, it's less about whether things will give way to the change, but when. The quality and value is there, we just need time to adjust. What do you think?
