trying a local roaster’s single origin washed process from a 4th generation guatemalan producer, Finca Santa Margarita. the estate is largely run by women and hosts an on-site school, clinic, and reforestation program. pretty cool.

the roast is pretty old school and dark, honestly a bit surprising for a hip third wave roaster. maybe we’ve come full circle and this is trendy now vs. uber light roast, fruity/floral espresso.

My wife and I both prefer dark roasts, usually can get them sourced from Guatemala or Brazil, but always feel like I’m dodging light roast tangy bullets

Shoutout to the Traffic boys. In a previous life, me and my coworkers would drive from Laval to visit them. Great roasters. I love a proper med-dark roast!
