trying a local roaster’s single origin washed process from a 4th generation guatemalan producer, Finca Santa Margarita. the estate is largely run by women and hosts an on-site school, clinic, and reforestation program. pretty cool.

the roast is pretty old school and dark, honestly a bit surprising for a hip third wave roaster. maybe we’ve come full circle and this is trendy now vs. uber light roast, fruity/floral espresso.

I’ve had coffee from these guys. Usually it is pretty fruity; at least what I’ve tried. I prefer the lighter fruity coffees so I’ve always been pretty blessed living in a city with like 100 microroasters leaning towards the lighter end of the spectrum.
