if you're jumping on a call with someone (assume minimal notetaking if any required) and they ask to do audio-only so that they can walk while talking, would you be: a) frustrated b) indifferent c) happy or something else?

Surprised by the "it shows they don't respect your time" takes. I find that my ability to maintain attention in a call while walking is *higher* than while sitting still.

Once I have an established relationship with sometime, the walk-and-talks are the best!! When I’m just getting to know someone, I prefer video.

It’s 50/50 for me, depends whether they end up being somewhere loud or where it’s hard to hear them If we’re both walking though it’s an awesome vibe

C - I wish active meetings were more socially acceptable (& wind was less noisy) Active meetings has so much research to support it’s a better use of everyone’s brains/time (assuming screens aren’t needed to communicate effectively) I have taken meetings on bike rides with Google Docs on my phone. It works well

If they give a heads up before call that they need to be off video, I’m OK. If they show up to a call with their video off and your video on, and don’t turn theirs on to mirror, I find it rude. If they give heads up they’re gonna be on go, I offer to call their cell. Best fit mobile comm channel. 💯

Depends on meeting If friend, indifferent. I do this for catch ups If professional (fundraising, biz dev), frustrated because the other party is not taking the meeting seriously, doesn’t respect your or their time

Don’t love it if it’s about business — as this can make it feel like they don’t think the call merits their full attention. Not to mention that environment often causes distractions. If it’s about catching up with friends or family, I think it’s awesome.

B or C, if it helps them think and enables a better convo I’m totally down. Might get a tad frustrating if reception is bad.

I’m a kinesthetic thinker. They wouldn’t want to talk to me NOT walking.

C - love walk and talks. I often pace in my backyard while on calls even when they are unofficial walk and talks. Ps I use Ai transcription to summarize which takes note taking out of the limitation too. When I need an important note that is “unsaid” I jot it in notes.
