Sometimes I feel guilty for enjoying Britney Spears because Big Pedo/the entertainment industry literally ran through that poor girl and destroyed her. Do I really like “Toxic” that much

when i was training with the national team, we lived and died by this mantra: “if you’re early, you’re on time. if you’re on time, you’re late. if you’re late, you’re fucked.” the entire team would have to do sprints if anyone was late. insane for me to fathom that 10 minutes late could be a norm.

Life on the Mississippi Mark Twain recounts his experience as a riverboat pilot. It’s mostly memoir, but it’s also part travelogue since the job is necessarily mobile. I read this last because I thought I would like it less than the travel books. The opposite proved true. He clearly knows and loves the technical minutiae of piloting, the Mississippi, and its denizens. This is what he wrote just before Huck Finn, and his writing is in top form. Five stars.

If your venture scale outcome requires other venture scale outcomes to be built in your ecosystem, don’t procrastinate on nurturing the ecosystem. It’s a lot harder than you think.

So I’ve been watching the reaction on twt to the “lobbyists are forcing more animal cruelty to save money thing” There is a fundamental ignorance of what Brix is saying here: that industry consolidation and market dynamics (chicken forcing race to bottom) cause this Instead people are saying 1. Cruelty free meat at scale is impossible and this is why we need bioidentical meat substitutes 2. Cruelty free meat at scale is impossible, and we should just accept this unless we want to depopulate So, in conclusion, we are never fixing anything

The craziest part about making in crypto is that you just need to believe that it will all work out when everyone constantly tells you it won’t. With each year that goes on you slowly sound less insane for having such a large portion of your net worth in fictitious internet money. Then you realize it wasn’t so fictitious and it’s become more real by the day. Hard to understate how pivotal a time we are living in in onchain history.
