What's preventing you for from casting about your niche interests in channels?

How can we make it easier / more likely that you would do it

Casts go out to all followers right? I don't necessarily want to broadcast niche interests to everyone. Would be great if I can control if it only shows up in a channel

Narrowcasts

- Limit your casts to channel followers
- Cast in niche / esoteric channels without “annoying” your audience
- You can toggle between everyone and channel followers only
- The composer will remember if you previously narrowcasted in a channel

A different solution would be letting users mute/snooze certain channels in their feed (then I wouldn’t be worried about spamming the home feed)

+1 for private channels 

not solely for privacy concerns, just cozier across the board

This is why I've been asking for mute channel since the early days.

Perfectly put. Every time I cast in /cricket, I feel bad for the followers that might be getting very uninteresting (to them) content. 

Same reason why I don’t cast in /chess or /coffee or other niche channels

Second to that, different niche topics break out my feed a lot and it’s unlikely people are going to have multiple same interests as me

Maybe cool to explore having a highlights tab on profile to keep targeted, in my example, design related casts

This would be really cool.  I know a lot of photographers that do all kind of other things but have been reluctant to post anything because its not what followers might want to see.

Would easily fit this into the "casting" naming scheme too, when casting you could just have the option for it to be wide or narrow like wideband and narrowband broadcasting
