Are their following numbers near 2500? Could be that they’re going over their limit of following and it just unfollows people randomly.

I’ve had a few people like this but they weren’t big accounts.

Follow-back tactic for building audience. Part of how they became “big” accounts. Pretty lame. I used to do it. I pumped a Twitter alt to over 30k followers once. It feels gross.
