Something I realized recently: Many single people chose their hobbies based on how much it improves their attractiveness to a potential mate. Not based on how obsessed with something they are.

I could never understand this approach to things. I wouldn't have the energy to pursue the hobby, if I wasn't obsessed with it.

For me, collecting perfumes is more about the personal connection I have with scents and the memories they evoke rather than solely focusing on attractiveness. It's like each fragrance tells a story of its own, reminding me of special places, events, and people in my life. Of course, it's a nice bonus that certain scents can enhance attractiveness, but ultimately, it's about enjoying something that brings me joy and nostalgia.

i actually do think this is a bad thing not because i find obsession attractive (which, similar to you, i do), but because i value shared hobbies as quality time together and the best way to find someone who likes the same hobbies as you is... doing the hobby you like ie the hobby you are obsessed with

You can say the same about any other activity of humans. Perfume, type of car, shoes, brushing teeth, wearing clean clothes, insta fb x fc posts. Just say in few words - the gene tries to spread itself by all means.

Perhaps the reason why I'm still single I'm so obsessed with my hobbies that any attention given to a girl gradually reduces over I long period of time Now I don't know if this is a good or bad thing
