Something I realized recently:

Many single people chose their hobbies based on how much it improves their attractiveness to a potential mate.

Not based on how obsessed with something they are.

i actually do think this is a bad thing

not because i find obsession attractive (which, similar to you, i do), but because i value shared hobbies as quality time together

and the best way to find someone who likes the same hobbies as you is... doing the hobby you like ie the hobby you are obsessed with
