Smth that i’ve been doing in the last few months - celebrating wins myself before sharing online. Since being chronically glued to screens, we constantly share our achievements on social media: posting photos, talking about our success, but also expecting likes and acknowledgement. Next time, when you overcome a new peak, complete a project, receive positive feedback, or just do something cool - celebrate it yourself first. Come up with your own ritual. A victory dance, coffee alone in the park, little trip (anything but not related to shopping, food or alcohol). Don’t rush to share with the world or close ones, give your brain the chance to register that success does NOT equal recognition from others.

I’m a low key criminal when it comes to celebrating. Literally steal it from myself. Must work on it. 💚

I always find it hard to celebrate anything for some reason. I’ve been trying to learn how to appreciate myself more and not focus on only what I’ve done wrong. Ironically, in a lot of “performance based sales” areas, you get a vibe like “your win only matters when someone else says something about it” But that’s disregarding the most important person, you. Your post gives food for thought.. I think.

I cooked myself a very instagrammable meal and didn't even take a picture. It was still delicious and I'll do it again. Also museum visits as a treat (without a phone) have become a great way to discover what paintings I'm actually really into. So it's a win win.

Thank you, I've always done this myself too but my fiancee she loves the social media validation. Sometimes she post them in my behalf.

I feel like i needed to hear to, I most times seek acknowledgment from others when i reach a new achievement, reading this I’ll reflect and try to celebrate myself more
