*not in a good mood today* i’ve been seeing casts about people being flagged as spam accounts — and some even say it’s because of their nationality y etc. these casts get a lot of likes and support, with everyone praising the kind words. but then comes the moment with an actual solution (my guide). clear, simple — but yes, it does require some work. some effort!! but the truth is nobody actually wants to make an effort. i went through all the accounts claiming they were unfairly flagged as spam in various casts of big accounts. carefully, meticulously, and with genuine intent. yes, they all did look like spam and i would not follow them back. even though i know there are nice people behind it. i just want to clarify guys that no one is trying to discriminate you. just the way you do it really doesn’t match the style that farcaster values right now. instead of complaining — just accept it, and learn to do what you’re currently not good at.

This might be naive (I am only 6 months old) but I do believe that that specific account is a real person. And I'm willing to give them grace in that I'm sure having a baby in the NICU is extraordinarily stressful and that can manifest by being mean in comment sections. BUT, they have to understand that 1, being mean comes with consequences (being blocked or muted) 2, they're not entitled to any other accounts attention, engagement, or kindness, and 3, that it actually takes a good amount of work and consistent casting of original or unique content to build a community that is trusting enough to donate to your cause. All that to say, I'm right there with you in struggling with this and hope your day gets better!!!

That’s peculiar. I have had multiple positive interactions with that individual before… I wonder if something changed.

What works on other platforms is to be belligerent and rude, these “outlier” behaviors get more attention, so the strategy works. Fortunately, it doesn’t work here.

I'm actually going through the follower graph data, since I'm very interested in this problem. It's extremely likely these are bot accounts and aren't real humans. This style of bot network is totally commoditized at this point. The main question is are they controlled by state actors, or someone with a lot of cash looking to farm a potential Farcaster airdrop. https://arxiv.org/html/2401.05501v1
