it's a huge shift in two ways: 1) communities get the opportunity to monetize in addition to the platforms (a client could still inject their own ads) 2) ads can be selected by the community owner rather than the hosting platform both of those are insanely good for communities https://warpcast.com/deodad/0x452a3aa5

I love to see more talk about ads. Ads aren’t bad but they’ve gotten a bad rep.

yes truth is we are overrun with ads and the terms of how they get placed mean they often are not well aligned to our values ("don't be the psychopath without furniture. come shop today!" is an actual billboard I saw) but a well aligned sponsorship can be a mutually beneficial driver

what’s the usage of channels that drives the value of these ads? (ie: i almost never “go” to a channel. i spend 99.9% of my time on the main feed. how will these ads be shown to me? - to be clear im not against adds, just curious about the mechanics for thinking in terms of adding value to a brand-)

good q in algo home feed apps are the dominant client it won’t be powerful but in channel specific clients that feel more like a sub Reddit it will too early to know what the design space of Farcaster clients looks like at scale
