What are the most well-worn books in your kitchen? NOT your favorites, looking for revealed preference. The ones that are truly beat up because you use them a lot. Mine: How To Cook Everything, Mark Bittman (the OG that taught me to cook) Ratio, Michael Ruhlman Flavor Thesaurus & Lateral Cooking, Niki Segnit

I didn't read any cook books till I watched the bear. They mention the joy of cooking by Irma S Rombauer in one of the episodes so I read it

A collection of fairy tales and fables... It's from the 50s, still says printed in DDR. It's pretty entertaining. They were ruthless back then.

The Four Hour Chef, Tim Ferris (haven't used it in years but heavily used at the start of my cooking journey in early 20s) The Food Lab, Kenji Lopez-Alt (ok I guess I have a type) Dessert Person, Claire Saffitz (my wife is the primary user and she uses it a lot)

I’m slightly embarrassed to admit but the Momofuku cookbook. Rarely cook a composed dish out of it but there are so many amazing components like sauces, pickles, etc.

I’m a pretty experienced cook and get most new recipes and information online now but for sure its this book. Kinda vanilla but it’s thrashed because I used it for years as a reference. Prepping, brining, tying, internal temperatures etc

Wife’s Italian. She has the recipes in her head; however, sometimes we’ll pick up a cooking magazine in line at the grocery store
