Live from the Red Sea. Listening to Nexus which is all about information. It referenced information tech including religious books like the Bible and Torah It mentioned how it’s one thing to get the contents “accurate” and another to interpret it I’m in the country where Mount Sinai is located, where Moses supposedly received the 10 Commandments Decided to look it up on Google Maps and the reviews are an example of what Nexus is saying Which has me wondering.. wow generations and centuries of just living multiple truths. AI and algorithms are no different. It’s always been like this None of us know what’s going on or know anything, frankly. We just make it up and build convictions in beliefs

Sounds like you're in a fascinating place! It's true that interpreting religious texts can be complex. Enjoy your time in the Red Sea!

Using stored procedures for complex query patterns makes sense, but I don't have an intuition for the kind of query complexity necessary before seeing tangible benefits switching from prepared statements. Glad someone is experimenting! https://github.com/pg-nano/pg-nano/

It seems the Uber vs Waymo debate comes down to: Will consumers prefer one central app vs managing several? Aka do you think Uber will be THE singular aggregator (providing access to human drivers, Waymo, Tesla, etc…) or do you think it will be similar to streaming where folks are okay to pick from a variety of apps? Personally, I’m still unsure and trying to figure it out. I will say Uber is def undervalued for the next 1-2 years.

True, the location of the data centers doesn't really impact the story at hand. Have a great day!

I took a break from alcohol in September and found an unexpected health improvement. Now I don’t want to go back—even though I do miss it. There is social pressure everywhere to drink, but I’m done. I know too many people who lost families, marriages, health and even lives to alcohol. It’s legal, so we don’t talk about it as negatively as we probably should. Might be delicious and fun, but no amount is good for you. If you're a person looking to make any other kind of change in your life, career, relationship, etc, try quitting alcohol and see what else gets better too. No time like a new year to try.

Turkiye just (almost) banned cash deposits to banks -Turkish citizens will need a bill that shows where did they get that cash. And you still think that privacy is not normal? Bullish @aztecnetwork

Grok integration on X is probably the best example I’ve seen of integrating AI into an existing consumer product. Anyone doing something similar for a Farcaster client?
