never but it’s naive to think social interactions aren’t inherently transactional, whether it’s financially or in some other way

All social media is transactional. It's all an influence game. At least here the value of influence is more direct. Other platforms make all their money off the backs of the creators who make the content advertisers can pair their ads with and the creators are lucky if they get a trickle through some performance bonus program or if they manage to find some other way to monetize that works for them.

i think this happens in the markets more often than we think, starts financially but eventually leads to deeper social connection: work, investment in someone, etc personally, would rather the majority of attention value go to ppl of a network than big social giants

Never yet, but really how often has it been tried in a way where the participants receive the rewards? Normally they’re reserved for influencers and corporations the own the social network.

might depend on the personalities and nature of the relationship but many would say a little money on a round of golf among friends makes the golf better. In web3 I recently tried an experiment with ham (I'm not a meme coin guy) and found it very interesting that the pure ham for ham tipping was cold and seemed meaningless at first but turned into me connecting with a few folks that I feel like I could work with...never would have connected without the ham meme coin. I love the question and am with you in wrestling with in with new FC eco....but judiciously it works....not saying that translates to web3, FC, etc. 🫡 ... Thanks for getting the convo going...seeing some QC of it, too. 👊

I build my audience on Facebook, it all start from social interaction, and end up become financial interactions ( as we are now a team of market analyst, crypto and forex ) I always see something good behind every lines, just like now we are doing on warpcast, even our replies are valuable. Who knows what it might be on years ahead.

I can think of Referrals as in : - URL : referral links - IRL : referrals for recruiting Then on a more global historic way anything community as in “this minority from city X only transact between themselves” and co-ops It can be very powerful but not The way it is done here. It’s clearly not the good way. I have personally avoided everything /alfafrens and friends.tech
