It had been generations since anyone planetside had seen the stars. Between the drone network and the holographic ads, they sky had been artificial for decades. You had to take the elevator up if you wanted to see the stars for yourself, and most people who did complained about how dull it was in comparison to the AI-filtered images projected by the drone net. It wasn't until the invasion that humanity remembered how important it was to look up.

Took a nap. And now back to reading. Lots of reading. I ended up dropping the Spanish class - the pacing of assignments is just not workable for me this semester. When I'd registered for the semester in March, I didn't know I was gonna get hit by a truck in May and still be recovering from a broken leg for Fall Semester. I've still got a full-time course load, but the spacing of due dates is much, much more doable in the other four classes. Today's focus is Anthropology of Religion - this week, we're exploring various methodological stances that can be taken when studying religion through an anthropological lens.

I made the 5 USDC list again today. I suspect I might drop off tomorrow - I wasn't as active yesterday and the reward is given two days after the engagement. It's kind of weird. Have mixed feelings about it. Part of me wants to fall off so I can just be done with the tension of that particular streak that I can't really control. And part of me wants to be the last one standing 🤣 🤣 🤣

Listening to the Moxie Community Call right now. Some changes coming to how Moxie earned on a cast is coming - dropping from 10x to 6x for recasts/quotes and from 5x to 3x for replies. This is to balance out emissions after the Far Boost increased emissions a bit more than planned. Caps are coming for how many casts/replies can earn per day - 150 recasts/quotes, 300 replies - but I'm a chronic caster and I don't even hit that cap! Moxie Jail is ending, they'll be seeing how those caps do for limiting farming and they expect those will only really affect about 1% of users.

Squeak is a hospice foster. He's blind from an infection he had when he was found by a neighbor and brought to me not long after I got home form the hospital a few months ago. He's almost 4 months old, but the size of a six-week old kitten still, and has a health crisis weekly with a not-great prognosis, which is why he's a hospice foster with me. He'll be with me until he decides he's done with this life, and in the meantime, he's my bud.

As Moxie value continues to dip, I ponder a bit if it's really worth it to continue. And I keep arriving at, yep, sure is. For one thing, I don't need to make a whole lot of money to thrive - I've arranged my life to be cheap and simple so that I don't have to hustle. But also... We're so freaking early. There's still so much untapped potential. And once it does get tapped? Stellar. Absolutely stellar. Now, I don't feel like Moxie is going to reach Bitcoin or even Etherium prices. But I could see it hitting .01 or even .02 in the next few months and growing from there. At .01 I could make Farcaster my full-time content platform. At .02, I'd be beyond set.

Today was a very slow day. It's my birthday, and I spent it doing mostly just want I wanted. Some errands this morning with a friend, and then alternating between reading assigned texts and gaming. I had one package delivered today, and I need to take the trash to the road, but other than that, if I had a list there would have only been those very few things on it. I don't have the energy or the desire to pack my days with a massive to do list anymore. I seek to flow through my life, improving gradually, without hustling to burn myself out. And days like this are a blissful reminder why I like to move slow. So I can do what I want to do.

As part of my quest to get in better shape as I hit middle age, I bought myself a bike May 11th. May 17th, I got hit by a truck while riding that bike. Bike is fine. It's been sitting in a friend's garage until I was ready to get it. Which turned out to be today. I won't be able to start off with the 17 mile rides I did the day before my accident, it'll be going up and down my small street back and forth for a few days working back up to it But I rode my bike today! 4 months after breaking my leg! Walking is still hard, and need to improve the flexibility of that leg to make biking really smooth, but I'm so excited!

Just bought 2 Farcaster Network tokens using @moxiescout! The Network Fan Token function as a sort of index fund for the whole network. It's a slow and steady sort of growth that doesn't depend on how one particular creator or channel doing. Doesn't matter what's trending. Every bit of activity on the network makes it grow.
