Why does TV OS matter? Just plug in an Apple TV to it

I haven't tried the others, but honestly, I like having the TCL with Google TV. I have a google home and I use it to turn the volume up/down, turn off the TV, or go back to my favourite show. Much easier than fiddling through a bunch of commands on a remote.

Our AV side of the business deploys a decent amount of TV's, here's my $.02: 1. Sony: gorgeous screens, shitty OS and apps 2. LG: same 3. Samsung: decent screens, decent apps 4. TCL and Hisense: ok screens and I like Roku So, if you want a really nice screen, add on something like an AppleTV or Roku to it.

Q60 QLED Samsung with Tizen runs nicely (Apple TV app is solid, Netflix and Prime Video too).

Sony Bravia. The sound is generated from the screen itself, gorgeous (unless you have a soundbar). the OS of the tv is meaningless to me, I connect it to Apple TV or Satellite and use it only via HDMI.

I will also stan Apple TV, but Roku is a close second if you get the 4K box. Visio or Samsung usually have the best picture quality fyi

We had TCL Pluto TV and it was great. A bit cheap and slowly died Got LG webos now. Awesome TV but no PBS Kids on webos. Rip. Luckily Amazon prime has a lot of the shows

Get the TV for the picture you want and get an Apple TV. Best OS and hardware for streaming by miles. Best user experience I’ve ever had for television by a mile. It’s well worth the price

Samsung Frame if it's in your budget (~1K for 55" on Amazon)

Apple TV plugged into a good panel, or TCL with built in Roku. TizenOS is riddled with ads, WebOS is slow and lags on inputs, GoogleTV will flood your network with noise. Roku has the ads, but is more responsive and easier to navigate.

Chromecast + Web Video Cast (for iOS) + your favorite legally questionable website for streaming movies/shows is an undefeated combo imo.

Samsung Frame might not be the best, but it looks the best and you can use the ambient screen for art on a wall, which, in my experience (I own one), puts it above the rest.

+1 for LG I bought a mid tier 48" from Costco 5 years ago. It's great. Good picture, great apps. HBO, Apple TV, YouTube, Paramount Plus; I can screen cast from a Windows or Mac laptop wirelessly. I can connect from my phone to the apps to navigate and select videos. One analog input allows me to play vintage consoles
