it really isn't "oh my god the food in Europe is so good" it is "the food in America is so bad" what's even more insane is how this "healthy food premium" is de facto accepted by people in the US instead of pushing for a change at the incentive level. same with insurance & healthcare, but even larger incentive there

Just reflecting on my last few days home as I board the airplane for San Francisco. I ate a lot, lost weight, never felt groggy or food coma, total mirror of my USA diet experience. Who's fixing this?

our food is broken, our healthcare is broken, our housing market is broken, our transportation is broken, our lobbying is broken, our defense sector is broken, our elections are broken it's not "insane" that US citz defacto accept all this; we are taught that these things are somehow better, we vote for *more* of them

US healthcare and insurance companies make almost all their money from unhealthy eating, so we're going to continue to see heavy subsidies on the least healthy foods, and kids are still going to be taught weird dietary disinformation in school, like how eating a ton of bread is ideal.

Haven't had any American food. Italy has good excellent ingredients, while the quality of ingredients in Europe is generally degrading.

Sadly, it’s not only that the food is bad, some of it is even toxic due to the GMOs used to grown it. European countries don’t allow the crap due to its carcinogenic profile.
