Biggest thing I have done for productivity in recent memory is turning my phone display on grayscale (you can do this in Settings –> Accessibility). Insane how the dopamine rush just immediately goes away.

This is a really important point. Often, folks think about focus as: Where can I strategically invest my time and attention? This is true, and, often follows from turning things off, muting, letting go of things that aren’t constructive. In other words: the first act of focusing is choosing what not to focus on.

I made an accessibility shortcut for this. So i can triple press the side button on my phone to disable it when i want to look at photos of my kids in color.

It’s insane, I lasted a month, highly recommended in order to consider if excessive screen time is really worth it… rather than actually enjoying your surroundings. Smart phones can really make us dumb.
