What do you think about Arc "act II"? I'll also reply with my take. https://youtu.be/WIeJF3kL5ng?si=7jGPtQZWNr3LriBm

I really like the direction they're taking but they're only covering a third or less of the web, the read era, if you will, but not the write and own eras. It's like I'm Feeling Lucky + Discovery Feed built into the browser superpowered by LLMs. A good start.

Interesting how quickly they're leaning into AI but it's hard not to, honestly Instant links is a nice feature. Part of me was hoping for a bit of a grander vision but it's hard to 180 the shape of a browser just like that, even if this is one step they're taking to try and get there

I like the direction they’re going in! The videos are cool and different but I’m so used to product launches that the “announcement” was kinda disappointing

No recipe blogspam already has me sold. Been using arc exclusively for awhile now so this just increases convenience IMO https://x.com/iamTWB_/status/1753126071317459069?s=20

What do you think of the product category? Is this competing with ChatGPT?

My big concern about this (and I guess part of AI in general) is it completely eliminates the diversity in information sources I see the potential for this to create echo chambers What will my result be if I ask about a controversial topic? Hopefully it would present both sides with links to credible sources

The video and product launch itself was incredible. Loved the playfulness, messaging, and ways to demo the product. Overall, very well done. The product itself is exciting, but does just feel like incremental innovation. Helpful, but not game-changing. Really just felt like a ChatGPT competitor.

i've completely switched all my desktop browsing to their app, but I feel like the new mobile one kinda misses the mark for me. if I want LLM-generated results I prefer going with Perplexity or Exo/Metaphor

Was just reading RWO so I could only think about people are waking up to the reality of corporate networks (google in this case) having too much control over our experience of the internet. "INSTANT LINKS skip the middleman."

it's the little ui/ux improvements that could make arc succeed https://warpcast.com/dennis/0x6ec1c94a

Thought this was brilliant. The messaging, marketing and overall design was spot on. I think the most impressive thing is how seamless their LLM integration is. It's presented as first and foremost as useful features for the average person, doing average things - just better.
