when friends tell me they have an interview or something big on a specific day (first day of job, last day of job, difficult doctor's appointment, first date, etc), i'll set a reminder in my calendar for 8am that morning of and text them good luck/congratulations/thinking of you easy way to show your loved ones they're on your mind, especially if you have an adhd brain that forgets everything as soon as you hear it :)

a little slice of life from this weekend 1 > went record shopping with my friend erika (fun fact i have two friends with my name, one ericka one erika) 2 > brought home a classic, the b-52s namesake album 3 > stumbled into a new thrift store and scored this elisa cavaletti linen buttondown with a bunch of fun construction details 4 > passed by my local plant store owned by a woman in her 70s with 8 children who gave me a t-shirt many years ago to be an honorary daughter of hers and if i wear the t-shirt into the plant shop she always gives me a free plant 🥹

life update: signing a lease this week to a dream apartment 🥹🥰😭 not only is it a 3min, 8min, and 14min walk away from 2 of my close friends + my bestie, it also has > 2 bedrooms > massive living room > eat-in kitchen > 2 balconies > clawfoot tub > heated bathroom floors > 9ft ceilings > skylight > top floor > faces park pear is going to have so much more room to play around and space for a big cat tree by a sunny window, and she'll have direct sunlight inside for the first time in 5 years!!

i dove too deep into the backend these past two weeks finally came up for a breath of air treated myself with a little iced coffee + focaccia + thrift outing and bought these board shorts to survive the rest of my sweaty summer in planning on replacing the strings with some fun ribbon or chain or idk also saw a bus with a little smiley :) bye happy friyay

i forgot i lit a candle this morning to cover up the trash smell wafting in the windows from trash pickup day after 10-15min i suddenly started sniffing the air and wondering “dang who is baking that delicious smelling pastry for breakfast” ‘twas not someone baking, twas my lemon shortbread /humankind candle!! tried, tested, and true - humankind candles are strong enough to cover even the ickiest of trash smells 🔥🕯️

my brother asked me what vpn i use because he wanted to get one i first asked him what he wanted to use it for, since different providers are better for certain services he said "I just want less of a chance of my shit getting hacked and don’t like the idea of my browsing being tracked by people." i told him a vpn isn't going to protect him from getting hacked, and his browsing is still being tracked if he logs into any accounts or opens any emails with tracking info during that session. if he uses an app on his mobile phone? donezo. when i told him what he actually needed to do to stay private and have better digital security, he said "Goddamn that’s a lot...seems like it’s basically impossible" my bro is 27. he grew up in the age of the internet. and doesn't have a single idea of what it really means to stay private or semi anonymous or even remotely protected in this digital age wild that the generations who have spent the most time growing up with technology, know the least about protecting themselves while using it. this shit should be taught very early on in school honestly
