It has become clear some tippers are engaging in short-term extractive behavior. So beginning within the next day, new restrictions will be enforced: 1. Tips to other tippers won't count toward your tipper score. 2. Within a 7 day rolling window... - a max of 15% of allowance can be given to other tippers - a max of 15% of allowance can be given to the same user These changes will benefit honest tippers and hopefully drive more value to underrated users who haven't heard of Farther, which is ultimately the biggest thing that can grow this project over the long term.

I mean... maybe try changing the leaderboard algorithm so that it isn't frequently giving really high tipper scores to accounts that only cast emojis, and/or look at why some tippees have extremely high ROI vis-a-vis others? Or, you can keep going down this "make a change every few days and see if anything works" method. The iterative approach CAN be good for solving some types of problems, but it falls short here. The main drawback? The whole point of $farther (for the users) is to quickly and easily reward good content. Already I have to check follower count. Now I have to check follower account, are they a tipper, how much have I tipped them in a rolling 7-day period? Is it raining? What star sign is Pisces transiting? Why would I onboard others to such a time-wasting and dysfunctional process? 🤔

Why do you hate tippers? You can finish it at the end of this month But the way you change the rules are insulting I’ve been here since the beginning but I don’t like it anymore this is so unprofessional…

By putting that case study you basically enabled this type of behavior by using 100% of tipping towards the number 1 ranked on the @hot100 so now what? Making more rules to control the herd? The season is not even half way and it’s non stop tweaking. I appreciate the effort but this ain’t it.

So, as an example, let’s assume my allowance is 4k today, and 3k thebrest of the week. Does it mean that I can tip a specific person 650 the first day and 450 in the following days, regsrdless of them being a tipper or not? @farther

I didn’t understand about the “same user” now i can’t give it to the same user twice per cycle

fwiw I get the idea here, but I think 15% is too low. I would say make it 50/50. The reason why is because at these levels I think you disincentivize having an Allowance. Who wants to have an Allowance when if you don’t have one you can receive unlimited tips?

I think all aspects are needed for a community to grow. Rules are needed but too many rules can nudge even newcomers away from all the stipulations they have to read. (Even with bot) In one way I see what you mean by trying to stop certain things and in another I believe a good things can come out certain behaviors.
