If you're wanting deep dish I prefer Unos. If you want a Chicago hot dog I say Gene and Jude's though it's not really in the city. If you're looking for an Italian beef I'd say Mr Beef. For things to do I love a good walk by Lake Shore Drive and favorite beach is probably Oak Street Beach for a good view of the skyline. I've never done the architectural tour on the river but everyone always recommends it even if you're from Chicago. I've also heard the gangster and ghost tour is cool. I'll forever and ever recommend the shedd aquarium or really any of the museums

1. Deep dish, the original unos or any Lou's 2. A beef, I still like portillo's but if you have never had one they are all pretty close 3. Fancy reastrant like Rosemary or Cabra or Aba 4. Steak house, can't beat Bavette's but $$$$ and hard to get reservation, you can order steaks at the bar that is first come first serve 5. Brewery, if you like beer let me know your favorite style or vibe I have been to over 60 in Chicago

You can prepare your travel itinerary using booking.com ,travelguide.com etc, you get an insights into others activities and select things you can also get and enjoy while there . Just take your time and go through it all and you can also use the help the locals also offers you real time suggestions.
